The Eating Disorders Clinic Incorporated is a private outpatient, community based program that provides psychotherapy services for individuals and their families who suffer from disordered eating, the underpinnings and the aftermath of living with such problems. The Clinic provides services from a variety of treatment modalities:

Therapy is offered to individuals and their families who suffer with:

§ Anorexia Nervosa

§ Bulimia Nervosa

§ Binge Eating Disorder

§ Trauma, Sexual Abuse

§ Depression, Anxiety Disorders

§ Impulse Disorders: Stealing, Self Harm, Trichotillomania

The services of the Clinic are Not covered under OHIP and the majority of extended health care plans. Some insurance policies may have coverage for “nursing services outside the hospital”. This type of policy may cover the fees of the clinic.

The clinic is under the direction of Patti Perry, RN, MSN. Patti is a Registered Nurse prepared at the level of Master of Science in Nursing with a clinical specialty in Child Psychiatric Nursing and Developmental Psychology. As a former assistant professor at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Nursing as well as a Clinical Field Supervisor for the University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine and Clinical Associate, Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of New Brunswick, she brings over forty years of experience working with disordered eating in both Canada and the United States.

In addition, she has clinical expertise in crisis intervention, child management therapy, marital and family therapy; is a sex therapist and has many years experience working with adolescents, families and groups.

FEES

The fees for services are not covered under OHIP or any of the major, extended health care policies. Some policies may cover nursing services outside the hospital.

Fees range between $190 - $240 per session, there is an opportunity for some sliding scale. Consultation sessions last 60 minutes. The charge is based on an hourly fee. Assessment sessions take approximately two to two and one half hours and individual sessions last 55 – 60 minutes; these sessions are billed accordingly. The Clinic does not do any billing, thus fees are paid at the end of each session, either with a cheque or cash.

The Eating Disorders Clinic Inc. is located in North York and easily accessed by public transit. The clinic is not a drop in centre, but by appointment only. A telephone screening interview takes place prior to a consultation or assessment. Please feel free to call for information:
