You come softly into my world,
and let me be who I am.
You honestly try to understand me,
Even when I do not understand myself.
You accept my point of view,
Although it is not part of your logic.
You realize the hour spent with me has left me somewhat tired.
You do not tell me that joke that you so eagerly want to tell.
You leave me the dignity of making my own decisions
even when they are wrong.
You do not take away my problems.
You give me self confidence to solve them.
You allow me sufficient space to discover why I am unhappy
And
Sufficient space to think of how I can be happy.
You hold back on giving me advice.
You accept my gift of gratitude by saying that
It is good to know that you have been of help.
You truly listen . . .
